THE PROBLEM
MSI were asked to provide expert advice to assist in the case of Warner v Scapa Flow Charters involving the death of Lex Warner during a technical diving charter.
Maritime Services International has provided assistance in over 260 legal cases as expert witnesses.
OUR SOLUTION
MSI initially evaluated the documentary evidence available and prepared an initial advice. Subsequently the vessel was inspected and a first expert witness report was prepared. A second expert witness was then commissioned considering specific aspect of diving.
Using best practise (as in there was no better) and drawing from a wide range of sources (not limited solely to marine practice) the programme delivers practical advice and guidance to Owners, Managers and Captains identifying any areas were improvements could be made.
THE RESULTS
The matter proceeded to trial in the Court of First Instance.
A judgement was given and this judgement was subsequently appealed and overturned.
