We have over one hundred marine surveyors, maritime engineers, vessel experts and naval architects globally who will work individually or collectively to meet any and all marine surveying requirements.
In addition to carrying out all types of standard marine survey, we are specialists in the design and implementation of bespoke marine survey reports. Whether you need a specific repeatable report on a fleet of vessels or specialist shipyard survey we can help.
Our marine surveyors carry out marine surveys for a vast array of clients including insurers, P&I clubs, underwriters, prospective purchasers, pre and post charter clients and financial institutions.
Wherever in the world our marine surveyors complete a marine survey, our reports are compiled and quality checked in the United Kingdom before completion.

There is no 'standard' pre-purchase survey so we will support you in completing a report that fulfils your requirements. If you want a walk through the vessel confirming everything in order or a full 'nut and bolt' in-depth analysis of everything the vessel has to offer, we have experts to assist.
Everything can be done to help with the buying process whilst assisting you in making the very best informed decisions about your new vessel.Vessel Damage Survey
Whether you are an underwriter, owner, captain or P&I club there is nothing worse than having to deal with a damaged vessel and the subsequent vessel damage survey.
During what we know is a very trying time, we are able to help, advise and support you at every step and have extensive experience on everything from a damaged yacht to a cruise ship damage survey.
Whether the hull is damaged, a ship is grounded, machinery has failed or even the vessel lost, we will act with your best interests at the centre of what we do and to get you the best result possible from a marine damage survey.
Pre-Sale Survey
If you are in the process of listing your vessel for sale we can help the process.
There can be a huge advantage to knowing exactly what a surveyor is going to find before selling your vessel.
It's hard work finding a willing buyer so you will know what the key points of negotiation are likely to be or any points that are likely to trip up the sale before that buyer sets foot on board.
This way you can price accordingly, list correctly or rectify the issues prior to marketing.
Our scope of work can be as in depth as you like and what you can be sure of is that it will offer great value.
Cargo Surveys
We have teams of people globally that can assist in almost any marine cargo survey. Whether this be a cargo damage survey, cargo loading survey or cargo unloading survey we have an expert to assist, report and find the root cause of the issue.
From fresh fruit inspections to loading carbon fibre windmill blades and investigating damaged concrete and iron ore we have done it all. And from water damage and insect infestations to lost containers and acts of God we really can help with any cargo survey that arises.
Whatever the circumstance we always act with your interests foremost in our mind and communicate throughout the process to give you the most relevant and up to date information we can.
Risk Management Surveys
There are many reasons why an accident can happen on board a vessel whether that be damage to the vessel itself or a human causality and most of these relate to human error.
We have been completing Risk Management Surveys on board the worlds largest vessels for over 25 years. We help underwriters, owners, captains and P&I clubs understand the processes, procedures, training gaps and other human and equipment aspects that can lead to disaster.
Acting on this information can significantly reduce the chances of an accident, issue or loss on board the vessel in question and support the vessel to improve going forward.
Vessel Valuations
The value of any vessel will always be a point of discussion and reaching the right figure as much art as science and research.
Our expert and fully independent surveyors can assist you in understanding the real value of a vessel.
Whether you are a bank needing to understand the forced sale value of a vessel or an owner wishing to know the current retail value of their asset our team will be able to research and provide an accurate vessel valuation in an easy to understand format with numerous comparables.
This can be done either as a desktop valuation based on information you provide us or as part of a full vessel survey to assist in understanding the affect the current condition of the vessel has on its value and saleability.
Vessel New Build Management
Instructing the build of any vessel is a complicated and time consuming affair with many complications and financial issues to contend with before commercial or leisure use of the vessel can start.
When building any vessel whether you are the buyer or the yard, you need as many independent people on your team as possible to look out for your interests and to make sure the whole process runs as smoothly as it can and within budget.
From the first specification of work, drawings, contract and all the way through the process to commissioning and sea trial our very experienced staff can assist you.
Vessel Refit Management
Whether you have just bought a vessel and it needs converting for your purposes or your vessel has reached a time in its life where it needs updating we can assist with your vessel refit management needs.
From the very first stage of planning the refit or conversion through to project completion we can advise, protect your interests and manage the process to get the best quality and value for you.

With hundreds of years of collective maritime experience we are regularly called upon in maritime expert witness cases.
We have a fantastic record in cases as varied as personal injury, build and refit disputes, groundings, collisions, salvage and many many more.
Although many of our surveyors, master mariners, naval architects and experts are court trained and have appeared in the high and crown courts, they are just as happy supporting negotiations and settlements pertaining to your or your client vessel.
Whatever your maritime expert witness need we are confident we have a expert to help
Sea Trial
Vessel sea trials are something that tend to taken for granted during a marine survey but the difference between a good one and a bad one is huge and potentially very costly!
A sea trial can be linked to any of our other marine surveys and add a vast amount of value. Depending on the size of the vessel being trialled, we will put together a team of surveyors and engineers that are able to test all areas of the vessel when underway. We will consult with you to ensure that the sea trial fully replicates the kind of use that the vessel will or currently gets in order to replicate any likely issues.
All interested and relevant parties are welcome to be present for the sea trial to give the clearest view on the current seaworthiness and operation for the vessel
